Steven Newhouse (OMII's Deputy Director) elected to the Global Grid Forum Steering Group
The Global Grid Forum is a community driven standards body whose goal is the 'pervasive adoption of grid computing in research and industry'. Its main management body is the GFSG (Grid Forum Steering Group) which co-ordinates activity within its working and research groups. Dr Newhouse's appointment as Applications Area Director is initially for two years, and he joins Professor David DeRoure (from the OMII at Southampton) who is already a member of GFSG with responsibility for the 'Technology Innovators' area.
