Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy deals with the personal information that is collected when you
use the public areas accessible without registration and restricted areas which
do require registration on this website. By using the OMII-UK website you are effectively agreeing
to this policy. If you have any questions about this policy or our web site,
please feel free to contact support@omii.ac.uk.
- Registration.
The OMII-UK registration process requires (minimally) a valid e-mail address which
we will use to send you a unique password. Your e-mail address will be used to
subscribe you to the omii-announce mailing list which is a closed low-volume
emailing list used to inform you of activities at OMII-UK. You may un-subscribe
from this mailing list at any time.
You may edit the information collected during registration. Additional personal
information may be required if you wish to contribute software to the OMII-UK. If
you wish your registration to be deleted, please contact support@omii.ac.uk.
- Data Collection.
As you move around the OMII-UK website our server logs will automatically collect
certain information, i.e. IP address, page requests, etc. When you use the
restricted area of the website we will associate your activity with your
identity, e.g. to record your downloads of software from the OMII-UK repository.
- Data Use.
We will not sell or pass on your personal information to any other
organisations, unless required to by law. We will use the information contained
within the website logs to generate anonymised statistical information for
external dissemination, e.g. software downloads
- Changes to this Privacy Policy.
We may make changes to the Policy over time. Notification of significant changes
will be made through the omii-announce mailing list.
- Implementation.
We will endeavour to implement this privacy policy to the best of our ability
and take all reasonable precautions to secure the data. However, no absolute
guarantees can be made.
