Project Summary

the knoogle_matchers project is seen as a companion project to the knoogle brokerage project. It consists of the implementation of a corpus of matchers which are designed to satisfy the interface expected by the knoogle broker.

Project Description

Matchmaking for the KNOOGLE brokerage project

The KNOOGLE broker is an axis based brokerage system for web services. It is based on a pluggable architecture where various attributes of the broker are supplied by pluggable components, implemented via external web resources. One of the most important web resources for the broker is the resource which implements the concept of similarity between different services. That concept is provided by service description matchers, and these service description matchers are what this project is concerned with.

The matcher interface

In order that the broker may communicate with matchers which it relies on, there must be some well defined interface. Clearly the matchers must satisfy this interface. The matchers must be implemented by classes which implement this interface.
The matchers which are provided in this project are provided for main reasons
  • To give concrete examples of the interface required by the broker
  • To give a brief tutorial on how to produce such matchers
  • It is necessary to have specific matchers for providing test cases for the KNOOGLE broker, this corpus of matchers would provide such specific matchers
  • To be of use in their own right
