OMII-UK Home

OMII-UK at the AHM 2008.

If you’re attending the UK All Hands Meeting (AHM), come to the OMII-UK stand (no. 25) and find out how we can help you get more from e-Research. The AHM will see demonstrations of OMII-UK’s latest software and presentations from our staff and associates on their latest work.

There’s also the chance to win an iPod: simply pick up an OMII-UK pedometer and then walk further than anyone else during the conference. See below for details.

Demonstrations

Software demonstrations will be held in the demonstrations room. We can also provide ad hoc demos at our stand – just drop by and ask.

What’s new?

This has been a good year for software releases. Our latest software, including packages such as PAG, SAGA and SPAM-GP will be demonstrated at the conference, as will updates to our most popular software, Campus Grid Toolkit, Taverna and OGSA-DAI.

We are now using the decades of experience we have in open source, e-Research and software development to help others get the most from e-Research. OMII-UK Services can help you with business intelligence, consultancy and evaluation of standards and software. Drop by at our stand to learn more.

Earlier in the year, the OMII-UK website was completely overhauled. The new site is easy to navigate and provides concise overviews of the software and services provided by OMII-UK. Work on the website is ongoing, so keep an eye out for more in-depth software information, guides to e-Research and further functionality.

The September issue of the OMII-UK Newsletter will be released to coincide with the AHM. We lead with an article that discusses the sustainability problems encountered at CERN, we take an in-depth look into the history of bioinformatics and hear about the use of OGSA-DAI by Audi.

Finally, if you collect an OMII-UK pedometer from our stand and record more steps than anyone else over the duration of the conference, we’ll give you an iPod nano. Look in the OMII-UK Newsletter for details of the competition.
