Commissioned Software Developer Support
Please note: the term 'Managed Programme' (MP) has been deprecated; where possible, please ensure all references are replaced with 'Commissioned Software' (CS).
This resource is intended to support the development of Commissioned Software products designed to follow the Commissioned Software Integration Specification. It is supported in software by the Commissioned Software Build Process release, which enables Commissioned Software releases to be built from source.
Important CS News
- [17/09/07]: An OMII 3.4.1 Test Candidate (2) is now available to develop and test against. The major change is the move to support Tomcat 5.5.23:
- Client: OMII Client 3.4.1 TC2
- Server: OMII Server 3.4.1 TC2

- [17/09/07]: Version 0.91 of CS Integration Specification
available. Minor corrections of LICENCE spelling.
- [29/03/07]: An OMII 3.3.3 Test Candidate (2) is now available to develop and test against. It includes some fixes to the revised security infrastructure, and a new client CS installer similar to the server one (for Linux, Windows CS client installer remains the same).
- [06/03/07]: Version 0.90 of CS Integration Specification available. Fixes an omission with the server omii.tomcat.protocol property.
- [20/02/07]: OMII 3.3.1 has been released which is available from the 'Downloads' menu bar on the website, which should be used for future development and testing.
- [14/02/07]: An OMII 3.3.1 Test Candidate is now available to develop and test against that implements the new security infrastructure

- [12/02/07]: Document available describing the new WS-Security and HTTPS infrastructure
to be adopted in future versions of OMII.
The Commissioned Software Integration Specification
The Commissioned Software Integration Specification
describes how developers can package their software into a form that can integrate with the OMII-UK build process and server/client installers. It also briefly outlines the process of product submission, evaluation, quality assurance and integration as part of OMII-UK, and where the developer fits into that process.
The Commissioned Software Build Process and Test Service
The Commissioned Software Build Process and Test Service
is the build process used by OMII-UK when building quality accepted developer products from source. Included is an example test service and client which demonstrates the build process in action, and exemplifies how a typical product is packaged that follows the Commissioned Software Integration Specification.
