myExperiment, a social environment for sharing workflows, now supports Trident. Trident is an emerging workflow systems built on top of the Windows Workflow Foundation.
Trident will provide Project NEPTUNE with a scientific workflow workbench for Oceanography. The Trident workflow workbench allows scientists to explore and visualise oceanographic data in real-time, and provides an environment in which catalogue workflows can be visually composed and run.
As a result of the integration of Trident and myExperiment, Trident users can now upload, store, annotate and share their workflows on myExperiment. The myExperiment team has also built in functionality to allow any type of workflow or script to be uploaded to myExperiment.
Trident is a collaboration between the University of Washington, Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute and Microsoft. The success of the integration with myExperiment is the result of an ongoing collaboration with Microsoft Research teams.
