Documentation
SAGA is developed at the Center for Computation & Technology
at Louisiana State University.
What can it do?
The Simple API for Grid Applications (SAGA) is a client-side library which provides access to the most commonly used high-level Grid functionalities, like file and job handling, replica management, messaging, etc. The source code can be downloaded, compiled, and installed onto all major operating systems, including Linux and other Unix-like systems, Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X
SAGA comes with a set of adaptors which translate the API calls to different middlewares and services, like Condor, Globus or SQL-based RDBMS. SAGA's runtime system, which is part of the library, manages the dynamic API-call to make adaptor mapping completely transparent to the user. The API itself is currently available for C++, Python and Java.
