Background

Two different python bindings to the SAGA API have been evolving independently on top of the JavaSAGA and the SAGA-C++ implementation. Both are fully functional, and very similar in many ways, but differ in enough places to make application level interoperatbility difficult or impossible.

Project Goals

Work toward a unified python binding for SAGA would include a clean API specification, and a code reconciliation of the two existing implementation.

Intermediate C++ and Java skills, advanced Python skills, familarity with Unix software administration
