.
Background
Taverna is an open source tool for designing and executing workflows across a wide variety of services and resources.
The GridSAM project is an open source project for making resources available through a standardised job submission interface using a standardised job submission language JSDL available from the Open Grid Forum. GridSAM provides a veneer over existing resources (either clusters or single computers) which translates the incoming standardised job submission into the format required by the underlying architecture.
Project Goals
A Taverna2 plugin for submitting computational jobs to GridSAM.
Project Description
The project is to develop a Taverna2 plugin that allows submission and monitoring of JSDL jobs to the GridSAM web service, that can provide a straightforward and abstract way of remote, parallel computational processing of workflow data specified within a Taverna workflow.
Project Requirements
Java and XML essential. Experience/knowledge of web services is not necessary but a major plus.
